Mining @ Tenth Street Project Team

Dr. Mary Okin is the founder and principal researcher of Mining @ Tenth Street. She earned a PhD in the History of Art and Architecture from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2022. In addition to Mining @ Tenth Street, Mary is an independent scholar and  the Assistant Director of Living New Deal, a nonprofit that advances research and education about New Deal public works. 

Celie Mitchard graduated with a double major in English and in History of Art and Architecture from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 2019. In addition to her work for Mining @ Tenth Street, Celie is a Museum Educator at the San Diego Model Railroad Museum in Balboa Park and a graduate student at the John Hopkins Krieger School of Arts and Sciences.
